New York Wants To Give Input On Proposed I-95 Toll Plazas In Connecticut

Charles Schumer and U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, both New York Democrats, held a press conference Tuesday to ask Connecticut to seek the input of New Yorkers on the impact of possible toll booths on Interstate 95 near Port Chester and Rye.

Sen. Schumer Urges NY Have 'Seat At The Table' In Conn. Toll Planning Process

NEW YORK - A possible toll on I-95 at the New York/Connecticut border has some concerned it could send traffic through suburban neighborhoods, causing traffic, safety and environmental concerns. Sen. Charles Schumer insists New York is not out to scuttle its neighbor's effort, but said if neighboring towns such as Port Chester and Rye don't "have a seat at the table" in the toll planning process, he would urge federal highway officials to withhold support.

Men beaten and robbed in Greenwich

The two victims, a twenty-one year old and a nineteen year old, were walking home from their shifts at a Port Chester, New York restaurant at the time. Police say, when they reached Armonk Street in Greenwich an SUV pulled up and three people jumped out.
