Port Chester Man Charged In Greenwich Robbery, Assault

A Port Chester, N.Y., taxi driver is recovering in Stamford Hospital after he was severely injured when he was robbed early Saturday by a knife-wielding man. Miguel A. Reyes-Pantoja, 26, of 23 Poningo St., Port Chester, was arrested at the scene on South Water Street by Greenwich Police after fellow taxi drivers rushed to the area when the victim called out for help over the taxi's CB radio and notified police.

Greenwich police say 26-year-old Miguel Reyes-Pantoja took a cab to South Water Street around 3:15 a.m., then grabbed the driver around the neck and demanded his wallet upon arrival at the destination. According to police, the Port Chester, N.Y. man cut the driver's neck and face, causing severe, life-threatening injuries.

A cab driver is recovering after being robbed at knifepoint and severely injured early Saturday and Greenwich Police say they have arrested a suspect from Port Chester who's being held on $500,000 bond. According to police, a cab driver for RC Taxi in Port Chester, NY, it was about 3:15 a.m. Feb. 14 when the suspect received a ride to South Water Street, just across the Port Chester border in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.
