The state Attorney General's Office recently charged the owner of a Port Chester restaurant with failing to pay the minimum wage and overtime to five former employees. Elisa Parto, owner of Elisa's Food & Plus, hired cooks, cleaners and cashiers who allegedly worked over 40 hours a week and were never paid the state-mandated minimum wage nor were they paid time and a half for the hours worked after they reached 40 hours, according to the attorney general.
