Ricci was born in San Donato, Italy, in 1910. She immigrated through Ellis Island with her parents and settled in Port Chester, N.Y. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a bachelor of arts degree and was a teacher of English, Latin and Social Studies in both the Port Chester and Rye school systems.
